Jesus is Peace.
Jesus Brings Peace.
He is the prophecy of Peace.
Peace: noun – Freedom from disturbance, quiet and tranquil; Freedom from war or violence
Though the mountains be shaken and the hills be removed, yet my unfailing love for you will not be shaken nor my covenant of peace be removed; says the Lord who has compassion on you.
Have you ever been through an earthquake? It is one of those times that I have always felt like it was a glimpse into the power of God. I grew up in Southern California I was there in the Northridge earthquake. Let me tell you when an earthquake hits, it is terrifying. Everything is shaking, falling off of walls, falling out of cupboards, you can’t get your footing, everything is out of control and in chaos. It stops and there is this eerie calm that happens, for hours or even days there are aftershocks, that are just as scary but you know they are coming and it’s manageable. If you are prepared, you can be scared, but you know what to do. You know to go to a door jam and hold on, you know to go to a solid table and get under it.
That feeling is what I think of when I see the first part of this verse. That fear of chaos, loosing control. The disorder, the mess, it’s all so overwhelming. Then comes the peace. When life hits us like an earthquake we must remember that clinging to Jesus will give us that peace. Praying for clarity, and discernment will better prepare us for the aftershocks. Knowing that we are promised unconditional love, and unending peace. We can handle the earthquakes of Life because we are prepared with Jesus. We know to pray, and cling to the word of God. He is the author of peace. Jesus is Peace.
It was prophesied that he would bring us peace in Zephenia 9:10 it says he is the Author of peace and shall speak peace unto the earth.
